About Emma
Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated by stories. Inspired by books, films, and tv, I would often come up with my own stories in my head and dream about sharing them with other people. The movies that impacted me the most and pushed me towards thinking about film was the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The story of Frodo and the Ring continued to push my imagination as I marveled at the power of storytelling. I was fascinated that a story could touch my emotions and characters who spoke to my heart. From that point on, I wanted to find a way to tell stories that could impact people the same way Lord of the Rings impacted me.
Coming from a background in agriculture and animal care, my applicaton to the School of Cinema and Media Arts at Biola University was a leap of faith. It is a decision that I will never regret. The program at Biola has allowed me to grow in ways I never thought possible. I have gone from a dreamer to a doer.
Now I spend my time doing what I love most, creating and developing stories. I have had the opportunity to consult on many of my classmates projects, helping them develop the best story possible. These projects have taught me the importance of collaboration within the art form of storytelling. I had the opportunity in the fall of 2019 to co-write with a fellow student on a short film that was produced. This experience taught me how to express my own ideas within the vision and passion of another person’s story.
Looking toward the future, I hope to find a place where I can work on creative projects in a collaborative environment. I want to tell stories and create atmospheres that help people come together and maybe even see the world a little differently than they did before.
